GL Budget Management window: Expense Controls Tab

Use this tab to set up account budget warnings for when an expense account is close to or over the budgeted amount.

Warn when account is above %

If you want to be warned when an expense account is above a percentage of the allotted budget, click the check box and enter the percent here. For example, if you have a budget of $1000 and you enter 70% here, if the account will go over $700 when you post, you will get a warning message during posting and the grid cell will become orange.

Prevent posting when account is above %

If you want to prevent posting to an account that is above a percentage of the allotted budget, click the check box and enter the percent here. For example, if you have a budget of $1000 and you enter 100% here, if the account will go over $1000 when you post, posting will stop and you will get a report listing the accounts that are over budget.
