GL Set Up GL Account Groups window
This option allows you to assign individual general ledger accounts to classified and cash flow report groups. You can assign multiple accounts at once instead of assigning them individually in the
GL Accounts window. Classified report groups are subcategories of account classes and are used to print
classified balance sheets and . Cash Flow report groups are used as a classification for reporting purposes in the
Cash Flow Statement.
Classified / FASB
Use the drop-down to select the Classified/FASB report group to which you want to add or delete an account.
Cash Flow
Use the drop-down to select the Cash Flow report group to which you want to add or delete an account.
Preview
Use the drop-down to select the report group for which you want to see included accounts. Then click the View button.
NOTE: Any changes you have made to the selected accounts for the different groups will not be reflected until you click the Finish button at the bottom of the window. Clicking Preview before completing your changes will enable you to see the accounts that are in the Report Groups prior to making any changes. |
View
To view a report of which accounts are currently included in the different report groups, select the report group you want to see from the Preview drop-down list, then click this button.
Acct Class
This field is informational only and shows the description of the account class(es) that appear(s) in the grid. The account class(es) shown depend on the report group you select in the Classified / FASB or Cash Flow drop-down list. For example, if you select Cash (Current Asset) in the Classified / FASB drop-down list, only Asset and Contra-Asset accounts appear in the grid, so the label will read Asset/Contra-Asset.
Account Group Grid
Use the grid to define which individual accounts will be included in the group.
Account Number
This is the general ledger account number of the available account.
Description
This is the description of the account number in the Account Number column.
Select
Select this check box if you want to include this account in the specified report group.
Select All / Unselect All
If no accounts, or only some of the displayed accounts, are selected for the report group specified in the Classified / FASB or Cash Flow drop-down, click this button to select all the accounts in the grid for the specified report group. If all the accounts are selected, click this button to deselect all the accounts.
Finish
Click this button to save your changes.
