AR Module Preferences window: User-Defined Fields tab
The User-Defined Fields tab allows you to define up to ten fields to track any customer information you choose. For example, you could track special interests, loyalty club participation, or birthdays. Use this tab to define the User-Defined Fields which appear on the User-Defined tab of the AR Customers window and, in the case of the two user-defined codes, in the menu found when you select Options > Codes > (User-Defined Field name).
On this tab, enter the titles for the fields you are creating, such as Loyalty? for tracking whether each customer is participating in your loyalty program, or DOB for a field to track customer birthdays.
You can choose to add these fields to the header section of your sales entry screen in the Sales Set Up Sales Entry Layout window. The fields are read-only in the Sales module.
User Field 1, 6 Char and User Field 2, 6 Char
Use these fields to define categories for user-defined codes to track customers. To define the codes, select this category from the Options menu.
User Field 3, 10 Char and User Field 4, 10 Char
These fields will record specific customer information of up to ten characters that you want to track for your business, for example, Customer Type, and will appear in the AR Customers window.
User Field 5, Date and User Field 6, Date
These fields are for dates. When numbers are entered in these fields in the AR Customers window, the system automatically formats them as a numeric date, separated by a forward slash (/).
User Field 7, Amt and User Field 8, Amt
These fields are for user-defined amounts for numeric input. When numbers are entered in these fields in the AR Customers window, the system automatically inserts a decimal place for cents, and commas for thousands.
User Field 9, 50 Char and User Field 10, 50 Char
These fields are for tracking customer information up to 50 characters long.
