PR Import / Export Employee Files window
Use this window to import or export Payroll employee records. Refer to
Payroll File Format Requirements for information to help ensure the file contains all required fields in the correct format.
Import / Export
From the drop-down, select whether you want to import or export employee records.
Transfer Method
This drop-down is only available if you selected Import from the Import / Export drop-down. When you import a file, your current records can be affected in three ways.
• Update and Append: this option updates existing data and adds new data to the table.
• Append only: this option only adds new data to the table.
• Update only: this option only updates existing data.
First row is column header
This check box is only available if you selected Import from the Import / Export drop-down. If the file you are importing contains column headers, select this check box to ensure it is imported properly.
Import/Export Format
This field label changes depending on your selection from the
Import / Export drop-down. Select the
type of file you will import or export from this drop-down. Your options are
Fixed length,
Tab delimited,
Comma delimited, or
Semi-colon delimited.
Input/Output File
This field label changes depending on your selection from the Import / Export drop-down. Type the path or use the browse buttons to enter the location of the file you want to import or the location to which you want to save the export file.
Import/Export Log
This field label changes depending on your selection from the Import / Export drop-down. This log shows fields that are being imported/exported, any errors that occur, and a message when the transfer is complete. You can click the Print Log button to print a copy of the information from the log box.
Begin Import/Export
This field label changes depending on your selection from the Import / Export drop-down. Select this button to start the import/export.
Print Log
Click this button to print a log of the import/export.
