PO Set Up Receiving Batch window
This window is only available if the system is set up to use
multi-batch mode. Use this window to set up a new batch in which to receive transactions. For more information on using batches, see
Working with Batches in Purchase Order. The batch number shows in certain reports for tracking purposes.
Batch Number
This number identifies the batch and is assigned automatically by the system and is read-only. The numbering scheme begins with AAAAAA and continues with AAAAAB, AAAAAC, and so on. After AAAAAZ comes AAAABA. After ZZZZZZ, the system starts the numbering over again with AAAAAA.
Identity
The system automatically assigns an identity consisting of the user that set up the batch, followed by the time in the format hh:mm:ss. You can change this identity to suit your needs. For example, you might want to change it to something that is more intuitive when looking for the batch in a Lookup. Whether you accept the default identity or choose to set up your own, the field cannot be left blank.
Date Created
This date is automatically set by the system and is based on the local transaction date.
Transactions
This field shows the number of transactions currently in the selected batch. This content is for informational purposes only and cannot be edited. If you are using this window to delete a batch, you can only do so if this field shows zero.
Select / Unselect
This button only appears if the Batch Number displayed is that of a previously saved batch. Select this button to set the batch displayed as the current batch for use.
If the Batch Number is that of the current batch, the button label changes to Unselect. When clicked, the current batch selection is cleared and the button changes back to Select.
