Sales Layaway Transaction window
This window is used when tendering layaway transactions.
Customer
This is the customer for this layaway. The customer from the sales transaction will automatically appear here, but you can change it by typing a customer name or using the Lookup to select a different customer. If you change it in this window, then the customer in the sales entry window will be changed to the new customer selected in this window. If Sales is not integrated to Accounts Receivable, there will be no Lookup in this box, and the Contact Information box will appear below.
Payment Schedule
Use this drop-down list box to select the payment schedule for this layaway. The options are
Weekly,
Bi-Weekly,
Monthly,
Bi-Monthly, and
Annually. The
Maximum Layaway Term field in
Sales Layaway Preferences window determines which options are available to you. The default for this will be the option you selected from the
Default Payment Schedule drop-down in
Layaway Preferences.
Today’s Payment
Enter the amount of today’s payment in this box. It will be validated to ensure it meets the minimum payment requirement as established in the Sales Layaway Preferences window. The default for this field will be the what you entered in the Minimum Down Payment section of the Sales Layaway Preferences window.
There is no change to the quantity committed or the quantity available for the item in inventory after the transaction is saved and/or posted. If the balance is paid in full, on hand and layaway quantities decrease after the transaction is posted.
Total # of Payments
This is the total number of payments that the customer will make on this layaway. The default for this field will be determined by the Maximum Layaway Term field and the payment schedule of this layaway. The number in this field will be recalculated if the payment schedule is changed.
Layaway Number
This is the number of the current layaway, and is determined by the system. It is shown here for reference only and cannot be changed.
Total Purchase
This is the total amount of the current purchase, and is shown here for reference.
Minimum Deposit
This is the minimum amount the customer must pay as a deposit for this layaway. This amount is established in the Sales Layaway Preferences window.
Layaway Schedule
The layaway schedule will be calculated automatically based on the Payment Schedule, Total # of Payments, and Today’s Payments fields. If any of these values are changed, the layaway schedule will be recalculated automatically.
Date Due
This column shows the due dates of each payment, based on the payment schedule and the first payment.
Amount
This is the amount of the payment listed in the Date Due column.
Balance
This is the balance remaining on the layaway after the payment in the current row is made.
Contact Information
This box will appear only if Sales is not integrated to Accounts Receivable. If contact information is required, then the clerk must enter contact information in this box. Changing the shipping address in this box will change it in the sales entry windows.
Totals
This section of the window shows the layaway totals.
Layaway Total
This is the total purchase amount on layaway.
Today’s Payment
This is the amount of today’s payment.
Balance on Layaway
This is the amount remaining on layaway after applying today’s payment.
[ESC] Back
Select this button to go back to the Sales Order Entry or Sales POS Register window without entering any of the layaway information into the transaction. The information you entered in this window will be retained, so that if you open it again by selecting the Tender button, the new layaway schedule will contain this information.
Tender
Select this button to complete the payment process for this layaway.
