Sales Order Entry Preferences window: OE User-Defined Fields tab
Use this tab to customize the User-Defined Field boxes that appear in the Header and Detail sections of the window.
Fields that are defined on this tab are defined only for the Order Entry module. Create up to five Header User-Defined Fields and five Detail User-Defined Fields.
To define fields that will automatically apply to both Order Entry and Point of Sale, use this same information for the OE & POS User-Defined Fields tab.
Header
General user-defined fields will appear in the Header section of the Sales Order Entry window.
Field Type 
This is the type of information that can be entered into this user-defined field when it appears in the Sales Order Entry window. There are three field types: Character, Number, and Date.
Caption 
Enter a caption for the field. The caption is the actual field title that appears in the Sales Order Entry window.
Formatting 
Enter the formatting instructions for the field. The format defines how data can be entered in the field by the user. Character fields allow a maximum of 50 characters. This maximum is for unformatted fields only and any formatting you apply to the field might affect the character limit. Numeric fields allow a maximum of 11 digits with 4 decimals. Date fields allow caption entry only - the date format is already specified.
Detail
Detail User-Defined Fields will appear in the Detail section of the Sales Order Entry window. Refer to the Header section in this topic for information on Field Type, Caption, and Formatting. The only difference is that these fields will appear in the Detail grid of the Sales Order Entry window instead of the Header section of the window.
