AR Enter Payments/Adjustments window: Detail tab
This tab appears at the bottom of the AR Enter Payments/Adjustments window and is only available when you select a payment, customer credit, or lease or prepaid service adjustment in the Transaction Code field.
Detail No. 
This number is read-only and indicates the row in the grid.
Reference to Pay 
Enter the reference (source document) number you want to apply this payment to. You can use the Lookup to choose the bill, or multiple bills, you want the payment specifically applied to.
For example, you might want to apply the payment to a more recent charge rather than an older charge, or you might want to apply this payment to multiple charges.
Adj to Apply 
This field is enabled after you select an reference in the Reference to Pay field. Type an adjustment or use the Lookup to select one (unapplied payment or credit) to apply to this transaction.
Adj Amount to Apply 
This field is enabled after you select an adjustment in the Adj to Apply field. If you want to apply a smaller adjustment amount (unapplied payment or credit) than is available, enter that amount in this field.
For example, you might have an unapplied credit of $100 available, but you only want to apply $50 of it to this transaction. In this case, enter $50 in the Adj Amount to Apply field.
Discount 
If you are entering a payment and the source document contains a Terms Code, select the discount rate from the drop-down to use to calculate the discount.
No Discount: No discount is applied to the payment.
Special Discount: Applies the discount amount specified in the Discount Amount field to the selected payment.
Normal Discount: Applies the discount percentage according to the timeliness of the payment (specified in the Terms Code).
Discount #1 - Discount #5: Applies the respective discount rate (1-5) specified in the Terms Code regardless of when the payment is made.
Discount Amount 
This field is only available if you selected Special Discount in the Discount field. Enter the discount amount in dollar and cents format. Do not use a dollar sign or comma, but include the decimal point. This amount cannot be more than the amount remaining.
Amount 
Enter the amount of the transaction you want to apply to the selected reference (source document) number.
You can only enter an overpayment if there is a payee attached to this Reference To Pay. The credit will be automatically applied to the next transaction the customer receives for this payee.
Amount Due 
This shows the amount remaining on the Reference To Pay. You cannot edit this field.
Payee 
This column displays the payee for the Reference To Pay. If there is no payee attached to this Reference to Pay, this column displays the customer number and name.
You can only enter an overpayment if there is a payee attached to this Reference To Pay. The credit will be automatically applied to the next bill the customer receives for this payee.
The following fields only appear for type 8 Prepaid transactions. The columns are sorted by expiration date.
Non-Inv 
This is the Non-Inventory Code for the prepaid service.
Type 
This is the type of prepaid service as it’s defined on the Non-Inventory Code.
Start Date 
This is the start date of the prepaid service.
Exp Date 
This is the expiration date of the prepaid service.
Remaining 
This is the amount of prepaid units remaining for the service.
Add 
If you want to add quantity to this service, enter the amount you want to add.
Use 
If you want to decrease quantity from this service, enter the amount you want to use. You can use more quantity than what is remaining; the amount remaining will become negative after you post.
The following fields only appear for type 8 Lease transactions. The columns are sorted by expiration date.
Item  
This is the stock item that is leased.
Serial  
This is the serial number of the stock item that is leased.
Return  
Select this check box to return the item to Inventory. After you post, the item will be in your available inventory.
