If you want to select a specific date for a transaction, you can do this in the transaction window where you enter the transaction. An example of this would be setting a specific date for an invoice in the Sales module.

This date will only be used for the transaction it is associated with and no other transaction dates will be affected. This is ideal if you only have one transaction that will use a different date or if each transaction uses a different date.
