IN Adjust Stock Quantities window: General Information tab
Enter basic information about this adjustment to the stock quantities.
(Fund product only) If you have Multi-Location Inventory and plan to transfer stock items between locations, the fund for the GL Control Account attached to the IN Code for the items in both locations must be the same.
Adjustment No.  
The adjustment number is the number for this transaction in the batch. It is system-generated and is read-only.
Date 
This is the date of the adjustment, which will control the accounting period into which the transaction posts. The default is the system date.
Bill of Materials Type 
Select this check box if this is a Bill of Materials (BOM or “Kit”) stock item. If you select this check box, the Stock Number Lookup only includes kits and the Tran Code field changes to Tran Type.
NOTE: To adjust the quantity for a kit, you must first set up the kit in the IN Stock window, then use the Set Up Kits window to add the components to the kit and create the completed stock item.
Stock Number 
Enter the stock number this adjustment affects. You can type the number or use the Lookup to display a list of available stock numbers.
When you select the stock number, the location (Multi-Location Inventory only), description, quantity on hand, and last cost display to the right.
Location 
This field is only available if you have Multi-Location Inventory installed and is the location of the stock item this transaction adjusts.
Document 
Enter up to 20 alphanumeric characters to help identify this transaction. It does not need to be unique and will appear on some reports.
Tran Code 
Use the Lookup to select the Transaction Code for this transaction. This code determines the type of adjustment (additions to inventory, subtractions from inventory, or transfers from one location to another (Multi-Location Inventory only), as well as the General Ledger account affected by the opposing entry for the adjustment (if integrated to General Ledger).
If you selected the Bill of Materials Type check box, the title of this box will be Tran Type.
Tran Type 
Select the transaction type for this transaction from the drop-down. The transaction type determines the type of adjustment this transaction is and only appears if you selected the Bill of Materials Type check box. Otherwise, the title of this box is Tran Code.
Stock Description 
The stock description of the stock item automatically displays here. This is read-only and cannot be changed.
Available Quantity 
The on hand quantity of this stock item automatically displays here. This quantity does not include any stock items committed and saved in unposted transactions. It is read-only and cannot be changed.
Last Cost 
This is the last cost of the item based on the last purchase. It is read-only and cannot be changed.
Extended Cost 
This is the extended cost of the item based on the quantity and last cost. It is read-only and cannot be changed.
Description 
Use this box to further identify this adjustment, if necessary.
Quantity 
Enter the quantity of items to add or subtract for this transaction. If the stock item you want to adjust is serialized, the system generates this amount of serial numbers.
Variant 
This field only appears if you choose a stock item that uses variants. You can either choose an existing variant or enter a new one for this stock item. For existing variants, double-click in the field to open the Lookup and choose the variant you want to adjust quantity for. New variants will be added to the stock item when you post.
Cost 
This field is only visible if you are doing an add adjustment. This is the cost of the items you are adjusting. The value in this box will default to the last posted cost of this item, but you can change it.
Serial Number 
Use this box to specify a serial number for the inventory stock item you are adjusting. If you assign multiple serial numbers, this number will be the first in the series the system assigns. If you have Multi-Location Inventory and plan to transfer serialized stock items between locations, the items in both locations must be serialized. You cannot transfer a serialized item to a location in which the same item is not serialized or vice versa.
Generate 
If you specify more than one serial number, select this button to generate the serial numbers for the stock items. Although the Generate button creates the serial numbers sequentially, you can change a serial number directly in the grid if you want.
Generated Serial Numbers Grid 
This grid shows the generated serial numbers for the inventory stock items. You can change a serial number directly in the grid.
Lot Number 
This field is only available if you are adjusting a lot numbered stock item. If you are entering an addition transaction, you can enter a new lot number for this stock item or select an existing lot number from the Lookup. If you are entering a subtraction transaction, you must select an existing lot number.
Lot Expiration 
This field is only available if you are adjusting a lot numbered stock item. You can enter an expiration date for this stock item or select one from the drop-down calendar.
Clear Table 
Select this button to clear all the serial numbers from the Generated Serial Numbers Grid.
