AR Customers window: Credit/Collection tab
Use this tab to define defaults, payment types, and collection information for this customer.
Allowable Payments
Use the check boxes in this section to select which payment types this customer can use. You can also print the customer statement.
Check / Credit Card / Debit Card / AR Charge / Cash 
Select one or more of the following payment types: Cash, Check, Credit Card, Debit Card, or AR Charge. When you enter transactions in Sales or Accounts Receivable, this customer can only use the payment types selected here for payment. You can select one, several, or all payment types.
Print Statement 
Select this button to print a customer statement for this customer.
Default Customer Information
Use the options in this group to define defaults for this customer.
Sales Tax 
Enter an existing Sales Tax Code or use the Lookup to select a code. You can set up Tax Codes in the Accounts Receivable or Sales modules. When you enter Sales transactions, this Tax Code is used by default to calculate sales tax percentages for the transaction. You can select a different code when you enter a transaction if necessary.
If you enforce the use of AvaTax for automated sales tax calculation, this field is hidden.
Discount 
Enter a code up to six characters in the Discount box. This is the first half of the Discount and/or Markup/Margin Codes you can establish in the Sales module. The code you set up here works together with the Discount Code you establish on the Sales Info tab in the IN Stock window to provide an automatic discount and/or markup/margin to customers when they buy certain stock items.
Salesperson 
Enter an existing Salesperson Code or use the Lookup to select a code. Salesperson Codes track sales by salesperson and function as a sort and filter option on several Accounts Receivable reports. You can set up Salesperson Codes in the Accounts Receivable or Sales modules. The Salesperson Code you enter in this field is the default when you enter Sales transactions for this customer, but you can change it if necessary.
Biller 
Enter a Biller Code if applicable. Some businesses use this field for the initials of the person that prepares statements for this customer. The Biller Code is a sorting option when you print Accounts Receivable reports and also appears on the Accounts Receivable Master Report.
Credit Limit 
Enter the customer's credit limit. The default limit is 0.00, which means the customer won’t have credit with your company until you specify a limit. If accumulated charge amounts exceed this limit when you enter a transaction for this customer, a message appears to let you know they are about to exceed this limit. You can cancel the transaction or ignore the message and continue to process the transaction. This amount appears on several Accounts Receivable reports.
Terms 
Enter an existing Terms Code for this customer or select one from the Lookup. Finance charge and early payment information from Terms Codes are automatically applied to transactions you enter for this customer. If you selected an AR Code that has a Terms Code attached to it, that Terms Code serves as the default in this field. The Terms Code appears on several AR reports.
Ship Via 
Enter an existing Ship Via Code or select one from the Lookup if you want to specify the default shipping method for this customer. For example, "GRND" might mean "Ground" to your shipping personnel.
Resale Number 
Enter the customer's resale number of up to 50 characters. Use this field if the customer purchases from you for resale and is not required to pay sales tax. The information you enter in this field does not appear elsewhere in the system.
Collections
You can set up and track collection information for this customer.
Collection Date 
This field is enabled when you enter a Status Code in the Collection Status field. It defaults to the current date, but you can edit it.The collection date is the date the customer account was placed on collection status. This date appears on several Accounts Receivable reports and can help you manage past due accounts.
Collection Status 
Enter an existing Status Code or use the Lookup to select one. An example might be "FINAL" which could indicate that a final collection notice was sent to the customer. Any entry in this box will cause a message to appear when you enter a transaction for this customer. The collection status appears on several Accounts Receivable reports.
Collection Comment 
The collection comment appears on both the Accounts Receivable Master and Collection Reports and is used to help assess the customer collection status.
