Setting Up the General Ledger Module
Because General Ledger is the backbone of the accounting system, it is important to set it up to meet your accounting needs. Depending on the modules you purchased and installed, some things might not be visible or required. These topics are designed with the assumption that the user has accounting knowledge, otherwise we recommend consulting an accounting professional.
You should set up your Chart of Accounts and fiscal calendar before you begin to set up the General Ledger for your organization (see Overview of the Chart of Accounts and Using the Fiscal Calendar for more information). Although many of the setup options can be changed at any time, we recommend you carefully consider your setup before you enter data. There are some minimum setup requirements you need to complete before you begin to work in the system.
