GL Copy Chart of Accounts window

The GL Copy Chart of Accounts option allows you to copy some, or all, of your General Ledger accounts to another company or organization or fund. When you copy a Chart of Accounts, only the unique account numbers and descriptions are copied. No reporting, history, or budget information is copied. To use this feature you must have at least two companies or organizations created.

Copy Organization Accounts (Fund product only)

Select this radio button if you want to copy all or part of the open organization’s chart of accounts to another organization.

Copy Fund Accounts (Fund product only)

Select this radio button if you want to copy a fund’s chart of accounts to another fund within the open organization.

Destination Company (Accounting product only)

Use the drop-down list to select the company to which the chart of accounts will be copied. Only companies with the same account structure as the current company are available.

Destination Organization (Fund product only)

This drop-down is only available if you selected the Copy Organization Accounts radio button. Use the drop-down to select the organization to which you want to copy the chart of accounts. Only organizations with the same account structure as the current organization are available.

Source Fund (Fund product only)

This field is only available if you selected the Copy Fund Accounts radio button. Type the fund number or use the Lookup to select the fund from which you will copy the account(s).

Destination Fund (Fund product only)

This field is only available if you selected the Copy Fund Accounts radio button. Type the fund number or use the Lookup to select the fund to which you will copy the account(s).

Use Account Filter

Select this radio button if you want to filter the selected account or fund.

Account Filter

This field is only available if you selected the Use Account Filter check box. Only accounts that match the specified filter criteria will be copied. You can use wildcards (* and ?) to establish filter parameters. Substitute a (?) for any single character in the account number or a (*) for any number of characters. For example, to include all four-digit accounts beginning with a 1, enter 1???. To include all accounts that end in 02, enter *02.

Use Advanced Filter

Select this radio button if you want to use an advanced filter code.

Advanced Filter

This field is only available if you select the Use Advanced Filter radio button. Type the Advanced Filter Code you want to use or open the Lookup to select one.

Starting GL Account / Ending GL Account

Use these boxes to set the range of accounts you want to include. The default settings for these boxes include all the accounts in your Chart of Accounts.

(Fund product only) If you selected a source fund, the Lookup will be filtered by the selected fund and the fund number will appear in the appropriate segment.

Copy Attached Files

Select this check box to also copy files attached to the ledger account(s).
