Sales Set Up Sales Entry Layout window
The Sales Set Up Sales Entry Layout window allows you to design customized sales entry windows to meet specific business needs. Customized sales entry windows allow you to control which customer information to view and how to view it, and modify the header and detail item sections of the invoice/receipt. You can also choose which types of tender to accept and how to collect them, and determine which printers to use.
Layout Code
Enter a Layout Code of up to six characters. The Layout Code is used to select a sales entry layout when you enter transactions.
Entry Window
Select the type of transaction entry window to which this Layout Code will apply, either
Order Entry or
POS Register. The required fields differ depending on whether you are using the
Sales Order Entry window or the
Sales POS Register window. The Layout Code will only be usable in the module you specify here.
Description
Enter a description of up to 50 characters to identify this sales entry layout. This description will appear in Lookups.
Display Inventory Item Buttons
This feature is only available in the POS Register window. It is designed for a touch screen, but you can also mouse-click the buttons.
If you want your Register window to display inventory items you can tap to add to the sale, select how you want the item button rows to display. You can choose small, medium, or large buttons arranged in one to three rows. If you do not want to use this feature, leave the default of Off in the drop-down.
You can set up the item buttons in the
Sales Set Up Inventory Item Buttons window.
Return to Main After Each Purchase
This check box is only enabled if the Display Inventory Item Buttons drop-down is not set to Off. Select this check box if you want to return to the main level inventory item buttons each time you add an item to the sale. If you want to remain in the current subgroup, do not check the check box.
If you add the MAIN item group as a subgroup to other subgroups, the Back to Main button appears at each level. This allows you to remain on the subgroup level after you add an item, but easily return to the MAIN item group.
Restore Defaults Button
Select this button to reset all the settings in the window to their defaults. The Layout Code and Description fields will not change.
Preview Layout Button
Select this button to see what the sales entry window will look like as you have defined it.
